Performance
The Cadillac XT6 is a long-awaited, three-row, midsize SUV in the Cadillac lineup. The 3.6-liter V6 engine relies on Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management to provide you powerful performance that still maximizes fuel efficiency. Active Fuel Management works by turning off two of the six cylinders when Bessemer drivers are cruising.
The automatic transmission has nine speeds for the ultimate in control. If that weren't enough, the XT6 has four drive modes - Tour, Snow/Ice, Sport, and Off-road. These can be engaged at the touch of a button and provide a more specific, and thus safer, way in which the vehicle handles changing road conditions.
The Active Sport Chassis system provides a balance between a smooth and comfortable ride and one that is highly responsive. You can tow a trailer up to 4,000 pounds in weight with the available Smart Tow Trailering package.
Interior Luxury
The Sport trim level has carbon fiber accents in the interior, while the Premium Luxury level has authentic wood accents in the interior. The interior has three rows of semi-aniline leather seating. The second set of seats slides to the side to allow easier access to the third row. Another option is to go with six captain's chairs.
The cabin is spacious. Both sets of rear seats can easily be folded down by pressing a button in the rear cargo area. There is quite a bit of storage area in the center console as well as in the doors. Interior climate control has three different zones so that everyone can feel comfortable.
Trim Levels
There are two trim levels, the Premium Luxury and the Sport trim level. The latter has the twin-clutch, all-wheel drive as standard. The Premium Luxury level has all-wheel drive as an option.
Technology
Some of the new technology features include advanced driver safety technology. The XT6 has Front Pedestrian Braking, night vision sensors that will warn you of hazards ahead in your line of travel, a Lane Departure Warning system, a Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and a front collision alert. The night vision sensors will actually show you on the touchscreen the danger when the sensor activates.
The touchscreen is eight inches and provides connectivity with your cell phone, radio, and other apps. Wireless charging is standard, and there are also wired USB ports spaced throughout the three rows of seating.
The other handy technology feature is the automatic, hands-free tailgate. All you have to do is kick with your foot under the driver's side of the rear bumper to open the tailgate.
